From the monthly archives: July 2012

Hi there!  Today’s swap share is one I did for the “In With the New” swap at Stampin’ Up! Convention 2012.  It is a swap that requires that the participants use stamp sets new to the catalog.  One of my immediate must-haves from the new 2012-2013 Catalog was the Summer Silhouettes stamp set.  Another was the single stamp, Beautiful Birthday, so I combined them into this card!  To create the background “paper,” I stamped the leaf stamp in VersaMark and embossed it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder, then I stamped the larger flowers with the Calypso Coral Classic Stampin’ Pad, and finished off with the starburst flowers in the Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Pad.  One tip to get your embossing powder to only stick to the VersaMark is to run the Embossing Buddy over the card stock before stamping to remove static!  Leave a comment to let me know what one of your favorite stampin’ tips is!!!

Here’s the first reveal of one of my thirteen card swaps from Stampin’ Up! Convention 2012.  You may have already seen it in this week’s Quick Tip Tuesday #9:  Ribbon Tying Tip.  It uses the fabulous Everything Eleanor Stamp Set that Stampin’ Up! gave us for FREE at Leadership 2012 in January!  Now, it is available for everyone in the 2012-2013 Catalog!!!  I used a very simple color combination of Crumb Cake and Raspberry Ripple.  I LOVE this color combo!!!  The only requirement for the Triple Time Stamping technique is that you have a lighter color and a darker color.  I used Pool Party and Island Indigo with this technique in THIS POST.  This technique, introduced to the stamping world by Dawn Olchefske, is so so beautiful and easy!!!  I’ll include the measurements used for this technique by Dawn along with the full supply list below the photo.  Just click on any item to be taken to it in my Online Store.  Remember to get your orders in for my Super Stampin’ Up! Sale for my birthday – where I give you the presents!  It only lasts a few more days!  Have a great rest of your weekend!!!

Hi there!  Today’s video is about my favorite (AND CHEAPEST) tool in the new Stampin’ Up Catalog:  the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack (126187)!!!  For only $7.95, you get three 6″x6″ templates with different shapes that you can pierce.  Also, I LOVE the new Stampin’ Pierce Mat (126199) and the new Paper-Piercing Tool (126189).

Today I’m reviewing my notes from Day 2 of Stampin’ Up! Convention 2012.  The first class I went to “i am earning an incentive trip.” with Karen Hauley and demonstrator incentive trip earners, Cynthia Millan, Jill Hilliard, and Meg Holland.  This class was so inspiring and now I’m working towards the 2014 Western Caribbean Cruise!!!  I also went to “i am doing business ‘My Way.'” where Ronda Wade and Tami White shared how they organize private classes and clubs, respectively.  Great ideas!!!  Finally, my third class of the day was “i am having fun.”   Shannon West gave us many different ideas for some ways to bring more fun to our stamping events!  We also had a mini flash mob in class, so I LOVED this class as I love to dance!

Watch tomorrow for details about a “Sale” in celebration of my 30th birthday next week!!!

Hi Stampers!  Today I wanted to show you three card samples I made with this month’s customer promotion.  This is the first time I’ve seen Stampin’ Up! do a promotion like this (outside of Sale-a-Bration), so I’m thrilled!!!  This stamp set will only be available for a few more days and after that, it is gone forever.  The cost of this stamp set is only $5 with a $50 order.  More details about this promotion may be found on My Promotions Page.  The set itself is a 7 piece stamp set with incredible Two-Step Stampin’ Flowers!  The first step (or base image) has almost a gradient look and does not require stamping off (or 2nd generation stamping to be used with the second step (or outline image) in the same color!  I have never seen Stampin’ Up! produce stamps like this before!  I am loving it and hope they do it again!!!  Very cool!!!  All supply lists are listed at the bottom of the post.  The third card is the one that SU! put on their flyers so I just copied it as I thought it was GORGEOUS! 🙂

Hi!!! I had such a great, great week at Stampin’ Up! Convention 2012 last week!!!  Read below the video if you want to hear more about a few of my classes.  I will work on getting my pictures edited so I can show them to you!

Anyway, today’s video is all about tying ribbon!  For some people, tying ribbon is a real challenge and this quick and easy tip is a great way to tie ribbon easier, as well as to use a bit less.  If you need a bigger cylinder (in the video I show the Stampin’ Mist 2 oz. Spray Bottle #102394), I use the Stampin’ Mist 8 oz. Refill Bottle #101022.  Of course, you can use any cylindrical objects in your own home, but these are super handy for me as they are already in my stamp room!

On Wednesday, I took 2 great classes.  Donna Griffith facilitated the first class I went to – “I am savvy.” and featured awesome presentations by Dawn Griffith, Meg Wheeler, and Laura Milligan.  Be watching my blog in the coming months for some fun ways to use ribbon that I learned from Dawn, neat ways to use fabric from Laura, and using the new English Ivy Stationary Kit and Personalized Stamp in different ways from Meg!  The second class was taught by Carrie Cudney and was called “I am open for business.”  She talked about the new places we’ll be seeing Stampin’ Up! pop up as they launch advertisements online and in magazines toward the end of the month.  I’m very excited about the ads as they are super cute and fun!!!  I can’t wait to see more of them!!!

I would love to show my favorite ribbon techniques to you at a class or party soon!!!  Contact me today to schedule your fun stamping event with your friends!!!

Hi there!!!  I’m in Salt Lake City for Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Convention!!!  It is a time I look forward to every year. I created several different cards to swap with other demonstrators that I will be thrilled to share with you when I return on Monday. Hopefully I’ll also have all kinds of other fun things to share too!!!  Have a great week!  See you back here soon!!!

Hi stampers!  Today’s video really features 3 tools as I show how I make my card bases for all of my cards.  I also share a few helpful tips on mass producing, as well as the 2 main ways to cut your card stock for an A2 card.  Enjoy!!!
