Hi! I’m so excited to get back to blogging and what better reason than some exciting news!!! I’ve been asked to be a part of the Design Team for the brand new challenge blog, As You See It Challenges! We’ll have a new challenge every week and I’m super excited because there are different types of challenges depending on the week. So sometimes you’ll have a sketch to work with, sometimes you’ll have a color combination, and other fun challenges yet to come. I’ve seen a sneaky peek of some of the first ones and I cannot wait to create using them!!! The first challenge begins on September 6th so stay tuned for that! You can get to know the Design Team up until we begin and my day for the Q&A is today. So head on over to www.AsYouSeeItChallenge.com and check it out…
Here’s the project I’m sharing over at the As You See It Challenge Blog in conjunction with my Q&A today:
One of my favorite cards I’ve made lately! I found this color combo on a polka dotted dress at JCPenney! This stamp set (Regarding Dahlias) was my first MUST HAVE stamp set in the new 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. Pair that with chevrons and I’m a happy girl! (Side note: If you don’t have the Chevron Background Stamp, you need it! Chevron patterned paper in whatever color you want!!! Yes, please!) I also love the half circle element on the right side with layers and texture created with my beloved Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine! I am also constantly using a HOT trend in paper crafting, flagged ends! Love love love doing that on my sentiment layers. Of course, I had to put some ribbon on there and there are oodles of Stampin’ Dimensionals popping pieces up and creating depth in my project. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!! Check out below for the full supply list. If you click on an item, it will show you that item in my Stampin’ Up! Online Store. Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything! 🙂 Can’t wait to share more crafty goodness with you in the coming days!!!

Where do I start? So so many things I love about this card!!! Silver Glimmer Paper makes me swoon! So beautiful, glittery, simple, mess-less (am I making up words again?)…and you can get it free with a party or $150 order during Sale-A-Bration! Speaking of Stampin’ Up!’s best sale of the year, Sale-A-Bration 2013, do you see that fabulous stamp? It’s from my favorite SAB stamp set, Vintage Verses!!! (The “Thanks” in the set is to die for as well!) I also love the new Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder that is in the Spring Catalog. Here I’ve embossed it onto Pool Party Core’dinations Card Stock and then sanded with the Stampin’ Sanding Block to reveal the lighter color on the inside of the paper. Oh, did I mention the ribbon? Or that doily? Read on…
The ribbon is ANOTHER free option during SAB with any $50 order! The Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack is so so awesome, it contains 3 spools of gorgeous 1/4″ ribbon in 3 colors: Island Indigo, Pool Party, and Tangerine Tango, as well as buttons in Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party, and Tangerine Tango! Seriously, ALL of that!!! Wowza! I am seriously hoping this pretty ribbon is offered in more fabulous colors in our next Annual Catalog!
The Paper Doily is from the Spring Catalog! These things are a steal at $2.95 for 24 of them! That’s right, I said 24!!! For this card, I folded it in half (not perfectly) so it would add more dimension to the card, but if you’re going for more bang for your buck, simply cut these pretties in half and have twice as many! YAY!
I used the Bitty Butterfly punch (again Spring Catalog) and punched a few out of the Silver Glimmer Paper to add some sparkle and shine to the card. Did I tell you yet how excited I am about this punch? I probably did – but I’ll tell you again! It coordinates with one of my all time favorite stamp sets, Papillon Potpourri!!! Are you kidding me? A punch for the large butterfly and the small one now too?!? Oh, double yay! This punch also matches the FREE SAB stamp set Bloomin’ Marvelous!!! (It’s pretty too! I bet you’re surprised that I think that!) I finished off the card with a couple of adhesive rhinestones to accent the beauty of the stamp – and let’s not kid ourselves, add a little more sparkle and shine, because who doesn’t love that? 🙂
Now, let’s talk about the color combo! Put any lighter color with Basic Gray and BAM, you’ve got yourself a beautiful monochromatic card! Other favorites besides Pool Party – Summer Starfruit or Pretty in Pink or Pink Pirouette or Certainly Celery…and oh, Calypso Coral would look pretty! See it works with brighter colors too, just a little less contrast! Give it a try!
This fabulous card was a complete CASE of my friend Desiree Spenst, who I believe CASEd it from someone else. That’s how we roll in the stamp world! Share and stamp, stamp and share!
If you haven’t already, place your Sale-A-Bration order today to start playing with many of these fun goodies! As always, if you have questions, don’t hesitate – that’s what I’m here for!!!

Vintage Papillon Potpourri Card
Hello! I hope today’s card reminds you that spring is just around the corner. I’ve layered tons of images onto the First Edition Designer Series Paper by stamping in different colors. It may be hard to see in the photo, but in real life, it looks really, really cool. One other thing I LOVE about this card is the butterflies from Papillon Potpourri – they were probably the simplest thing I did on this page because of their matching punches!!! I was beyond excited when I saw that the smaller butterfly had a matching punch in the new Spring Catalog! (FYI: The Bitty Butterfly Punch also matches the butterfly in the FREE Sale-A-Bration offering, Bloomin’ Marvelous.) YAY!!! Anyway, I love the vintage style and don’t typically gravitate to making cards of that style myself so I signed up for a Vintage Swap at Leadership Conference for a bit of a challenge! 🙂 I love the final result and it makes me want to try vintage more often!
You may be thinking that this card looks familiar! That’s because I showed you a few of the pieces of how I made it in two of my recent videos HERE and HERE! If you haven’t watched those yet, I hope you do! A few other details – the Label Framelit layered behind the Oval Punch is turned 90 degrees from how you typically see it. It is also pierced with its matching template from the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and then flipped over to the other side so you see the rough sides of the holes instead of the clean ones. Again, a little vintage touch! I also really like to do that to masculine cards to give them more of a rough feel.
You may have been thinking, wait, I thought that paper-piercing pack was in the Holiday Catalog? You’d be right! It did debut there but it is in the Spring Catalog on page 36 with the other selection of items that were in the Holiday Catalog and are still available for order. The stamp sets are listed on the side (please let me know if you don’t have a Holiday Catalog if you’d like to see the images) and then the rest of the goodies are pictured on that page. One item that is still available but missed making it onto the page is the Champagne Glimmer Paper! I LOVE all of the Glimmer Papers so I was pretty excited about this! If you want to order it, just punch in item 127885!
Ok, finally, I’ll give you a rundown of what those “tons of images” that are stamped on the First Edition DSP so you can recreate this card! 🙂 It doesn’t really matter the order you do these things in – although I normally go from your lightest ink to darkest so you can best see what and where you’re stamping. I stamped the large floral image from Elements of Style several times in Crumb Cake ink over the entire piece to cover it. The Swallowtail butterfly is stamped in Baja Breeze ink. Then I stamped the paint splatter image (LOVE IT! This is a must-have stamp for me!) several times in Soft Suede ink. Finally I stamped my Music Notes wheel in Early Espresso ink towards the bottom. I unmount my wheels (see a video of that HERE) and I didn’t want to have a harsh edge so I used a torn post it note to mask off the left side of the wheel so it would look gradual with the torn edge instead of harsh with a straight edge. If I had it to do over again, I would either stamp my Music Notes wheel all the way to the bottom or move my ribbon up a bit. In the video showing you how to gather your ribbon like I did on this swap, you see why this happened to me as my ribbon hung down much farther than where I originally applied my sticky strip. (I knew this would happen but didn’t compensate for it as much as I should’ve to show the music notes a bit more.) I layered this piece onto my distressed Espresso piece (see that video HERE), and then applied the ribbon treatment on top of that so I could tape the ends onto the back. The butterflies were added with glue dots and the sentiment and Espresso pierced framelit were layered together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and then added onto the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!
I hope you enjoyed this project! It’s one of my favorites that I’ve made in a long, long time! If you don’t want to miss out on a single post, please subscribe to my blog! 🙂

This card was the favorite at my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack last month! I CASEd the main elements for this card from Jackie Bolhuis. So simple and beautiful with the Snow Flurry Die, Silver Glimmer Paper, and a simple greeting. This amazing die will not be available on our carry-over list during the Spring Catalog, so get it before our Holiday Catalog ends on January 2nd! I also used one of our Basics Glimmer Brads, as well as the Scallop Edge Punch (with the Silver Glimmer Paper) to give it even a little more bling! Be thinking ahead – our hostesses during Sale-A-Bration (from January 22, 2013 – March 22, 2013) will receive a package of the Silver Glimmer Paper as a little extra perk for hosting a party!
Be watching in early 2013 for several new additions to the Sarah Loves to Stamp offerings sure to be beloved by stampers and scrapbookers!

Stampin’ Up! Cyber Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday!!!
Hi there! Today I have another super cute card that we made at my Stamp-a-Stack this month! This one was CASEd from my dear, dear Canadian friend Desiree Spenst – although I think she said she had also CASEd it from someone else. Such is the stamping world!!! 🙂 Anyway, remember that our fabulous Online Extravaganza Sale lasts until Wednesday, November 28th – again, ending the sale with three 24 hour only deals! CLICK HERE to download the PDF and check out all of the spectacular deals!
I just love this little gingerbread boy and girl from the Scentsational Season stamp set in the Holiday Catalog! Remember that if you love them too, they are only available until January 2, 2013!!! To make the little boy, I tied a little bow with the Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine and put some of the Basic Rhinestone Jewels on for his buttons. They are on sale for only $3.47!!! I think I already ordered 4 packages to stock up!!! The little girl gingerbread’s bow is made with 2 of the tiny hearts from the Owl Builder Punch! Clever use, huh? 🙂 As I said, not my idea but BRILLIANT!!! I also used the Gumball Green ribbon that is on sale in the bundle, as well as the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack. I LOVE both of these items, but think it especially hard to see how awesome the Brights DSP Stack is! It includes 2 each of 2 double-sided designs in all 10 colors in the Brights Collection! LOVE it!!! All of the patterns are tone-on-tone and include: polka dots, stripes, a text pattern, and a fancier looking motif! So so so useful!!!

50% Off Come to Bethlehem in Online Extravaganza Sale!
I just love this card that I CASEd for my Winter Stamp-a-Stack Class this past week, but I have NO idea who I got the idea from…sorry! So so so pretty!!! It uses a very simple color scheme and the beautiful Core’dinations card stock. I tell you what, putting it through the Big Shot in an embossing folder, then sanding with our Stampin’ Sanding Block to reveal that lighter core is like magic! Also, I think I didn’t quite re-ink my Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad enough, so when I stamped it was a bit blotchy. The Blender Pens are a quick fix when used with the ink you squeeze on the lid. I’ll make a video showing you what I mean very soon!
Come to Bethlehem is a favorite of mine and at 50% off the price cannot be beat! The Wood-Mount is normally $19.95, down to $9.98 and the Clear-Mount is normally $14.95, down to $7.48! WOW! Happy Halloween + Quick Tip Video
Hi there! Hope you’re all having a wonderful Halloween! I made a card to share with you that fits a lot of challenges online this week. Sure fun to get some ideas from other places – my favorite are sketches and color challenges and I used BOTH on this card. I would’ve NEVER thought to put So Saffron & Daffodil Delight together, but I LOVED them together. I stamped the “Happy Halloween” from the hostess set Wacky Wishes randomly on my So Saffron card stock in Daffodil Delight ink and that really helped pull those two yellows together! I also did a challenge that meant that you had to include bling, so I took my Stampin’ Up! Basic Rhinestone Jewels and colored them with a permanent black marker. Another fun challenge requires you to use supplies that are more than 6 months old – mine were my neglected colors So Saffron and Tangerine Tango, as well as the Whisper White Baker’s Twine and all of the circle punches!
One other tip is about the Candy Corn – I made it with a Whisper White 1/2″ circle punch, Tangerine Tango 1″ circle punch, and Daffodil Delight 1-3/8″ circle punch, centered and layered together. Then you cut wedges to make the individual Candy Corn pieces! So so simple! I also rounded all 3 corners so they looked even more like Candy Corn. Then I put them on Dimensionals and popped them in my little jar! I just love the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and Cannery framelits in the Holiday Catalog!!! Let me know if you have questions on how to use the Big Shot after watching these videos!!!
Paper Rosettes Made Easy: Quick Tip Tuesday #17
Hi there! The video is long again – I swear I cannot make a short video to save my life! There are just so many things I want to tell each of you! Check it out! Hope it helps you in your rosette making – I know I struggled to push the center down before the magic secret I show in the vid! 🙂 See you tomorrow – hopefully with a new card!
Using Embosslits with the Big Shot: Tool Time Thursday #16
I hope you enjoy today’s video! Embosslits are tiny but pack a lot of punch as they cut and emboss at the same time! I LOVE to use these on any of my projects! The perfect accent!
In other news, do any of you watch the X Factor? I’m loving the talent this season, especially that Tate Stevens! I was on the edge of my seat last night because he was in the third group, after the first gotten the good news and the second the bad. Man, I love that show!
Anyway, hope you’re all having a great week! If you haven’t signed up for my mailing list yet, get that done so you don’t miss out on the 2nd Week of Christmas, which will be out next Wednesday.
Using Markers with the Piercing Pack: Quick Tip Tuesday #16
Today’s video is a long one as I ended up making the entire card on camera! I hope you enjoy it! I show a little bonus tip about how I add Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter to my projects as well. I’ll be back later today to edit this post with a full supply list, as well as a photo of the card I made in the video. I apologize that the video didn’t get posted until today – I didn’t notice (for a long time) that my YouTube upload had completely stalled out and I had to restart it! Sorry!

Using Originals & Bigz Dies with the Big Shot: Tool Time Thursday #15
The video today is all about our most versatile Big Shot item: the Originals and Bigz dies. Why do I say they are the most versatile? Because they cut through 50 different materials! Here’s a list of all of those materials:
- Thick corkboard
- Thick chipboard (59 mil)
- Colored magnet
- Ruffle board
- Paper wood
- Balsa wood (3/32″)
- Bass wood (1/16″)
- Metal mesh
- Aluminum (.016)
- Tin (.008)
- Adhesive and non-adhesive mat board
- Drawer liner
- Shelf liner
- Vinyl
- Static cling vinyl
- Shrink film
- Fine sandpaper
- Clear acetate (20 mil)
- Vellum
- Card stock
- Patterned paper
- Flocked paper
- Contact paper
- Textured paper
- Metallic paper
- Linen paper
- Suede paper
- Embossed metallic paper
- Basketball embossed paper
- Faux alligator textured paper
- Self-adhesive glitter paper
- Fabric
- Canvas
- Iron-on fabric
- Soft plush fabric
- Burlap
- Velvet
- Corduroy
- Lace
- Heavyweight denim
- Terry cloth
- Funky fur
- Thin leather
- Quilt batting
- Warm & natural batting
- Fusible fleece
- Self-adhesive craft metal
- Self-adhesive cork
- Self-adhesive foam
- Self-adhesive magnet
- Self-adhesive felt
- Adhesive and non-adhesive rubber
- Pop up sponge
- Poly foam
- 100% pure beeswax (cut with parchment paper on top & bottom of beeswax.)
Again, this list is just for those thicker dies! Do not try to cut these materials with Framelits or Sizzlits!!!
I also show you how to use the Bigz dies that have score lines on the die cuts with the Crease Pads. TIP: If you are going to buy an XL die with score lines (like the Designer Rosette Bigz XL die I show in the video), you need the Extended Crease Pad. However, you can use this extra-long crease pad with all of your other dies too! I know it costs more than the Standard one, but you can use it for ALL of these dies whereas the Standard one will only work with the non-XL ones. Depends on your plans…I have both because I had the Standard one first, but if you want to save a bit of money that’s just a tip for you! 🙂
Hey! Today’s card is not my own design – I totally copied it from the Stampin’ Up! home office team. I’ve seen a few of them floating around thanking demonstrators for presenting at Convention or our more recent Regional Conferences. I changed VERY little as I LOVED it exactly how it was. The original card used Sassy Salutations which I don’t own, so I substituted the Hostess-only stamp set Wacky Wishes. (I also thought that the “Thank You” from Curly Cute would also work but hadn’t used Wacky Wishes yet!) Also, the sentiment on the original seems to be stamped in Basic Black, where I just stuck with the color scheme and used Midnight Muse. One of my favorite things about this card? That it uses the fabulous polka dot leftovers from the Daydream Medallions stamp set (see what I mean in THIS VIDEO). I also wanted to show you the Crumb Cake envelope that I stamped to match too! And don’t forget, this ribbon is just one of five colors you can choose from with this month’s Back to Spool promotion where you’ll get a FREE roll with every $40 spent!!!
